You are confirmed for The Smithcraft Introduction to Forging Course, on March 4-5th, 2017

Classes run 9am – 4pm each day at our North San Antonio Campus, in the forging area.

sheath-example

Directions: This will be held at our North San Antonio campus.  It is approximately 7.5 miles north of the 1604 intersection off Hwy 281 N.  We are including directions for you to print out with the address and how exactly to find us.   Do NOT use GPS or ANY online mapping tool.  It will send you in the opposite direction, far far away.  Just print out the directions that are given in the following link. https://thehumanpath.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/2016-DIRECTIONS.pdf

You will enter to Gate #4.

Parking:  Once you enter Gate #4, you will see several work structures — an RV and several small buildings on the right, and then two larger classroom buildings on the left.  Pass all of this and follow the curve in the road that will lead you to a parking area where there will be an old 1960s Ford pickup truck and other student cars parked.  Please allow enough time to park and get checking in before the start of class at 9 am.

Classroom Location: The class will be held in the Main Classroom.  Staff will be present to check in students.

WHAT TO BRING

-Notebook/pen (optional)
-Camera (optional)
-water bottle
-sack lunch. (lunch is not provided in this class)

Cancellation Policy: Please take a moment to review the school’s cancellation policy.   https://thehumanpath.net/about/payment-policies/

Camping: Students taking this class are welcome to camp at the school property on either Friday &/or Saturday evening. Campfires are permitted (as long as there is no burn ban in place) in the covered campfire circle only and MUST be attended.  We also have a student field kitchen to allow students room to prepare their own meals.  If you bring a cooler of food and basic cooking utensils, there is a propane stove to cook on in addition to the camp fire, as well as a covered area to prepare food.  For those that do not want to camp or prepare food at the school, there are restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. If you plan to arrive on Friday evening to avoid an early morning commute, just let us know in advance.  A caretaker will need to check you in and show you the camping area. Email me and I will give you more instructions.

Ground Rules: As always, please make sure that you take good care of the land, clean up after yourself and leave the area in good condition. We are actively trying to restore the grounds and prevent over-use and remedy the neglect from previous years.

Also, please know that the gate will be closed at @ 9:30 pm for the night.  Loud music and partying are not acceptable — if this is something you want to do, a hotel is the better option, as we will have people camping and trying to sleep.

Weather:  The school will not cancel classes due to weather conditions unless there is severe flooding or other extreme events. This course will go on, rain or shine.  Please do make sure to pack for any type of weather though, cold or hot so that you are adequately prepared.
