Off-Grid and Eco-Construction concepts are focused on supporting the efforts of the Herbal Medic teams in the field. The skill set needed for a thorough understanding of construction concepts starts with practical skills that are needed in everyday life.
This weekend hands-on class will cover the basics of construction skills, followed by an eco-building project of constructing an off-grid composting toilet structure. Students will learn, from start to completion, the materials, tools and design components needed to build a safe and sanitary composting unit that is free from energy and water dependence. Wherever possible, eco-building projects will work with salvaged or re-purposed materials.
